Sixth photoshoot write up.
Today I went to Kellingley Colliery which is about 10
minutes south east of Leeds, just off the M62. It’s fair to say that today’s
shoot was a failure judging by the quality of the images. I spent the day walking
around the mine but I was unable to get near to it or in a position where I
could get a decent view of the main aspects of the mine.
I suppose one thing that I’ve learnt from this shoot is that
it going to be difficult to get good quality images of a mining operation
that’s active and on this scale. So from here I might not go to the other mine
I talked about in my research earlier on but go to one of the chalk mines near
Hull, which I know to be a much smaller scale operation than this.
