Renewable energy (wind turbines)
I’ve chosen to specifically look at wind turbines as they
seem to be everywhere these days and constantly dismissed as ugly and an
expensive waste of time. However I quite like them and in my opinion their
numbers are going to multiply until a more sustainable, powerful/clean method
is developed that will replace oil, gas and coal.
This map shows where there are currently wind turbines in
England. The map shows concentrations of them along coast lines across the
country, but especially in the northern half.
The number of sites shows how much we’ve changed our
landscape to accommodate our way of life, but also how we are beginning to
change, in the hope of preserving our climate.
The second image shows wind farms that are currently under
construction in brown and planned areas of development in blue. This shows our
commitment to the future of the development of clean energy
